9th November 2020
The Government announced at the weekend that it will continue to support parents on low incomes during the Christmas 2020 and Easter and Summer 2021 holiday periods by providing free school meals during these periods. In order to qualify for this scheme children will need to be eligible for ‘Pupil Premium’ and therefore I attach Mrs Haywards letter sent on 21st September 2020, detailing who would qualify to apply for pupil premium and how to do so.
Previously during the period of school closures each eligible child received £15 per week of vouchers for use at a supermarket although the details of the new scheme have not yet be released.
Please be aware Pupil Premium is different from Universal Free School Meals, and only those who are eligible for Pupil Premium will receive the vouchers during holiday periods.
