Last night we received clarification from the Government of who constitutes critical workers. Below is a link for guidance regarding critical workers:
It has been reiterated that the most recent scientific evidence on how to further limit the spread of coronavirus is clear. If children can stay safely at home, they should. It is important to underline that schools remain safe places for children and the fewer children making the journey to school and the fewer children in educational settings, the lower the risk the virus can spread and infect vulnerable individuals in the wider society.
For a limited amount of children, whose parents are critical to the coronavirus response and cannot be safely cared for at home, then educational provision will be available for them. Many parents who are working in this sector, may be able to ensure their child is kept at home and we ask that you consider all safe opportunities before requesting educational provision. We are operating on a limited, skeleton staff and it is crucial that we protect their wellbeing as much as possible too.
We will soon be in contact with those critical workers who have already requested provision. If you have not done so and believe you require educational provision, please contact before 12pm today.
You will then receive communication by the end of the school day, to confirm if there is a place available.
