18th March 2020
Following the government briefing last night and messages from our academy trust the advice remains the same as yesterday; If anyone in your household has a cough or temperature, everyone in that household must isolate for 14 days. I also understand that parents/carers may wish to withdraw children from school as a preventative social distancing measure. Pupils absent because of these reasons will be registered as absent due to exceptional circumstances, and these absences will not be subject to our normal attendance procedures.
As communicated yesterday the schools continue to remain open, however there may become a time - either because of government/our academy trust advice, or because staffing levels would make the school unsafe – when we have to partially or fully close the schools. If there is a partial closure we will prioritise keeping open key year groups due to the forthcoming SAT’s examinations; years 2, 5 and 6. We will also try our hardest to provide spaces in school for health care, emergency service and teaching professionals. If you are classed within one of these categories please email us using firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone the school on 01202 806806 to let us know.
Once again I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone for your understanding during this unusual time. I will of course keep all parents updated of any changes to advice as and when they happen.
